Description
When "Death Discs" controversially began to make their mark on mainstream pop music in the late '50s, they were initially viewed as being in bad taste and many suffered airplay bans.
Nonetheless, despite the lack of radio play, sides like: "Moody River", "Teen Angel", "Tell Laura I Love Her", "Ebony Eyes", "Big Bad John", "El Paso" etc. were massive sellers.
Conversely releases like: "Susie Forgive Me", "The Ballad of Billy Brown", "A Thousand Feet Below", "Jimmy Love", "The Rumour", "Girl on Death Row" failed to register but have become much sought-after collectors' items.
This 56 track 2CD set has been lovingly and carefully compiled. The juxtaposition of the genres popular hits alongside the collectors' rarities, and the fact that many of the latter are not available elsewhere on CD, simply makes this a compilation to die for.
