Description
Robert Callender's 1976 concept album grew from visits to Paris's Jeu de Paume into a musical world staged at Trude Heller's in Greenwich Village. Across twenty linked pieces, soul, jazz, funk, calypso and theatrical narration bring Monet, Renoir, Degas, Morisot, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Toulouse-Lautrec and Bazille into focus. This artist-approved 50th Anniversary Edition is newly remastered by Prof. Stoned and brings the complete suite to its first official CD release. The digipak includes an illustrated 16-page booklet of new notes, rare photographs and period ephemera.
For fans of Roy Ayers, Jon Lucien, David Axelrod, Curtis Mayfield.
