“This is the music by my great hero, the Paraguayan guitarist Augustin Barrios. It’s also the soundtrack to my childhood spent on a council estate near Brighton, England.
The 26 bus took me to my guitar lessons each week but my guitar took me to Paraguay, at first in my dreams but eventually in reality.
For this album I have chosen a selection of my favourite Barrios pieces. This is the music of a true Paraguayan genius. I am a respectful and thankful Englishman.�
