Description
No Sisters were formed (and aptly named) by the four Barrett brothers: Pete, Tim, Tom and Dave. Considered one of the top unsigned bands in the San Francisco Bay Area, they opened for many touring headliners of the day – including Joe Jackson, The B52s, The Ramones, and Oingo Boingo.
Recorded at the Mabuhay Gardens on March 22, 1980, this 15-track set features the fast, frantic, new wave-based sound and style with original material and covers of "California Sun", "You Can't Sit Down" and a revved-up party version of "Brahm's Lullaby".
The latest addition to Liberation Hall’s Sounds from the San Francisco Underground series, No Sisters find themselves in the company of The Kingsnakes, No Alternative, and The Offs – a time capsule of the best unsigned punk in the burgeoning West Coast scene of the 1980s. The band’s single 'Roscoe’s Family’ became a regional hit the following year, nominated for a Bammy as Best Independent Single of the year.
