Description
Migliori Amici & Co is an award winning progressive rock collaboration between veteran musicians/producers Michael Sciotto (Jefferson Starship, From The Fire) & Ray DeTone (Paul Di'Anno's Killers, Drive, She Said). Their first EP, "(best of friends)", is a collection of originals, remakes, and traditional songs from the classical, rock, baroque, Celtic, and jazz idioms. These are reworked as contemporary prog rock and performed at a virtuoso level. Odd time signatures, soaring melodies, shred guitar, pounding drums and big synths combine with classical guitar and piano to create a beautiful, yet often edgy soundscape.
Tragedy provided opportunity during the 2020 COVID-19 shutdown, when the best and busiest freelance musicians found themselves at home with an abundance of spare time, instead of doing commercial work for various clients. Seizing the moment, Michael and Ray decided that this was an opportunity to enlist their closest and most talented friends to help them realize their vision. Those friends include Mark Clarke (Colosseum, Billy Squier), Nicky Moroch (Elton John, David Bowie), Adam Holzman (Miles Davis, Steve Wilson), Alex Salzman (Ace Frehley), the late David J Keyes (Renaissance, Willy DeVille), Dave Trupia (Marty Balin), and Ralph Merigliano (Ross The Boss). -
