Description
In and Out of Focus is the second track on the debut album by Dutch rock band Focus. After Focus recorded Focus Plays Focus and it failed to be released, they went on tour and won second prize in a competition in Mallorca. The first prize seemed to have been decided in advance. They played their version of Concierto de Aranjuez, but during the sixteen-minute song, the power went out. Akkerman was furious and destroyed some equipment. They were arrested and eventually released. In their hotel room, they fooled around a bit and House of the King was born. Once back in the Netherlands, they secretly recorded the song, but Hubert Terheggen found out and was angry. Because the first release of Focus plays Focus contained an error, the album was re-released under the title In and out of Focus, thus including House of the King. The order of the tracks was also changed. -
