Description
The album features world premiere recordings of chamber works created in 2003-2017 by Stanislaw Moryto - an outstanding composer, organist, teacher and animator of musical life, rector of the University of Music in Warsaw. On the fifth anniversary of his premature death, the musicians of the Prima Vista String Quartet and the invited guests evoke the memory of this extraordinary figure, sharing what the composer himself considered to be the most valuable - music.
In addition to string works - the quartet, Pastorale and Ciaccona, which was to be a movement of the second, unfinished quartet - we can also listen to a lapidary piano concerto written for young performers. Each of the works echoes the artist's great fondness for Polish folk music, a nostalgic memory of a world that no longer exists, a tradition in which he grew up in his native Lacko. Not having succumbed to avant-garde innovations, he remained faithful to his own style, in which there is room for individual virtuosity, elaborate form and melody, and numerous paraphrases.
