Vinyl LP pressing. 2013 release from this project led by drummer John Moen (Decemberists, Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks, Elliot Smith), who now stretches out a bit with his own album of gorgeously crafted pop-rock tunes. The 12 songs herein are imbued with sweetness, sass and melancholy, reminiscent of Notorious Byrd Brothers-era Byrds and the shuffling boogie of Squeeze. Songs call out to a bonnie-haired beloved, broadcast from a moored ship that used to go places, stay up late to bemoan an old sadness. -
