Five Leaves Left - Echoes on Solo Pianois the new project from pianist and composer Demian Dorelli, a tribute to Nick Drake'sdebut album. The full album, set for release on February 21st, 2025, is Dorelli's second journey into Drake's repertoire, following his acclaimed solo piano reinterpretation of Pink Moon.
Dorelli's connection to Five Leaves Leftis deeply personal. He currently resides in Cambridge, where Nick Drake studied English at university and composed much of his first album, just as Dorelli would later create music in his own garden studio in the same city. This profound link with Drake's life and work is evident in Dorelli's piano interpretations, where he captures the intricate arrangements and emotional depth of Drake's songs, all while translating them into a solo piano setting.

To build anticipation for the album, the first single will be released on November 22nd, 2024, followed by the official video on November 25th, 2024, a poignant date marking the 50th anniversary of Nick Drake's untimely passing.
The album was recorded in the renowned Wood Roomat Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios, near Bath, UK, with producer Alberto Fabrisand sound engineer Tim Oliver. Together, they have crafted a new sound that stays true to Drake's original compositions while offering a contemporary, piano-centered reinterpretation.

BIOGRAPHY
Demian Dorelliis a pianist and composer known for his refined reinterpretations of iconic masterpieces. Born in Londonand raised in Italy, he embarked on a musical journey that led him to explore the intersection between classical and contemporary music. With a background ranging from jazz to electronic music, Dorelli is recognized for his evocative and minimalist style, capable of transporting audiences through intense and emotional soundscapes.
After signing with Ponderosa Music & Art, Dorelli gained critical acclaim for his piano reinterpretation of Nick Drake's Pink Moon, released as the album Pink Moon, A Journey on Piano(2022). His work is characterized by a deep artistic exploration that preserves the original essence of the pieces he reimagines, while also leaving a distinct personal imprint.
