Fashion-designer-turned-pop-singer Claudie Fritsch-Mentrop scored an international hit right out of the gate with her 1989 debut album as Desireless, Francois. Boosted by the smash single "Voyage, Voyage" -- which had topped the charts around Europe and Asia back in 1986 -- the record presented a seamless merge of pulsing Euro-disco and the polished electronic chill of synth pop.
