TRANSMISSION REISSUE OF PORCUPINE TREE'S 1995 RELEASE 'THE SKY MOVES SIDEWAYS'
Having recently announced that Snapper Music will be representing Porcupine Tree's Transmission label worldwide, new CD & LP reissues of the band's catalogue will roll out throughout 2021.
'The Sky Moves Sideways', regarded by many fans as one of the band's finest releases, is a cornerstone of any Porcupine Tree collection. Recorded partly as a Steven Wilson solo project & partly as a full band album, it's a diverse experimental release spanning space rock & progressive rock styles with long guitar led, instrumental sections.
Following the now sold-out LP box sets of Porcupine Tree's 'Delerium Years', Transmission is re-releasing the band's records from the era, including The Sky Moves Sideways, as a series of mid-price CDs. Wilson specially remastered the album for the first Delerium Years LP box set.
Disc 1 is the original album as conceived for vinyl. Disc 2 includes an alternative version of the title track containing music that was eventually cut from the original album version, as well as different lyrics. It also contains EP tracks 'Stars Die' & 'Moonloop' (the edit presented here is a hybrid which contains all of the music from all of the previously versions & runs to 21 minutes).
This version will be released as a mid-price double CD in a 6-panel digipack.
