The Poll Winners label is devoted to the reissue of albums that received the maximum 5-Star review ratings in the iconic jazz magazine DownBeat, this edition presents the complete classic album Ella Swings Brightly (Verve V64054), the first of Ella Fitzgerald's collaborations with the great arranger and conductor, Nelson Riddle. All of the music from these 1961 sessions presented here, includes seven additional songs to the LP's original selection of twelve. Also added are two rare tunes from Ella and Nelson's initial 1959 collaboration, the Gershwin Songbook album. Ella Swings Brightly won a Grammy Award for Best Female Vocal Performance.
