Description
Debbie Wiseman's music works wonders with words from Alan Titchmarsh to tell the story of Jack Frost, the personification of frost, ice, snow and freezing cold, on this brand new album.
Titchmarsh's telling of this age-old tale, aptly narrated by the author himself, comes alive in 12 unique 'movements', each with its own musical and dramatic characterisation. In addition, the composer presents two Jack Frost orchestral suites and three piano solos, all encapsulating key Jack Frost themes, and all without words. Finally, two brand new Christmas carols also feature, penned by Wiseman and Titchmarsh, with one - 'Tell Me, Star' - presenting Cerys Matthews and her choirboy son, Red Abbott-Matthews, in duet together for the very first time.
It is also not the first time that Debbie and Alan have pooled their immense talents, having had a successful association in 2018 with the Classical chart topping album 'The Glorious Garden'.
Alan Titchmarsh comments:"I wanted to evoke that magical feeling in childhood when you wake up one bright winter's morning and find that while you were asleep, the whole world has been transformed into a wonderland. The icy fingers of Jack Frost have crept across your windowpane and out there in the freezing cold, in the towns, hills and valleys, the houses and the trees are all dusted over with sparkling crystal".
