Description
One of the main determinants referring to Penderecki's concert output can be considered the universal, easy to transfer to any other instrument nature of solo parts. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that it is the vast majority of Penderecki's works of this type that has been transcribed in a variety of ways.
The Double Concerto for Viola and Cello was composed in 2012 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the Musikverein Hall in Vienna. It is a work with a clearly outlined neo-Romantic structure. The Concerto per flauto ed orchestra da camera (Concerto for Flute and Chamber Orchestra) was created in 1992 on commission of the Orchester de Chambre de Lausanne and dedicated to world-famous flutist Jean-Pierre Rampal.
