Description
An album by Hyuk Lee, finalist of the last Chopin Competition, from The Fryderyk Chopin Institute. The two-CD album with competition recordings of Hyuk Lee is a release in a series presenting the most interesting personalities of the Competition; these include the young pianist from South Korea, who during his performances in Warsaw in autumn 2021 played, among others, the Sonata in B flat minor, Op. 35 and Sonata in B minor, Op. 58, Variations in B flat major on 'La ci darem la mano' from Mozart's opera Don Giovanni, Op. 2, Scherzo in C sharp minor, Op. 39, Polonaise in A flat major, Op. 53, Mazurkas, Op. 17 and Piano Concerto in F minor, Op. 2 (with Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra under Andrzej Boreyko).
October 2021 was a time of great pianism in Warsaw, presented by the youngest generation of artists from all over the world. The 18th Chopin Competition, which gifted us with so many fantastically talented virtuosos, was one of the best in its almost 100-year history. We can recall these exceptional moments thanks to the Blue Series of The Fryderyk Chopin Institute.
