Description
This intimate recording presents the colourful spectrum of music from the golden age of the English lutenist songwriters, coupled with instrumental interludes and variations. Violin, viol and lute all join in with the singer in inspired playfulness, for a fresh take on this sublime music. The musical arrangements are based on improvisational practices of the Elizabethan time, and performed by some of Sweden’s foremost baroque musicians. Composers include John Dowland and his contemporaries, such as John Danyel and Thomas Campion.
