Description
The singer, composer and arranger Alexander Lovmark puts it simply; 'I want to create a straightforward tribute to honor the great classic jazz standards.' It is only his second album since his 2018 debut PERFECT STORM presented his own compositions. Little Bird highlights his genuine interest for standards by, among others, Horace Silver, Billy Strayhorn, Joshua Redman, Jobim, and Rodgers & Hart. 'As a singer, my role models include Al Jarreau, Bobby McFerrin and Kurt Elling,' Alexander reveals and adds that he started his musical career in his childhood, when he landed a solo performance in Mozart's The Magic Flute at The Royal Swedish Opera in his hometown of Stockholm. His musical studies included playing the contrabass, before he was accepted in 2006 to The Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg, where he changed his major to song and improvisation.
