Description
Several known and not so known standards from one of the best-known veterans of the Norwegian jazz scene, saxophonist Harald Bergersen, aged 84 and still going strong. A disciple of fellow saxophonist Stan Getz, Gerry Mulligan and Lars Gullin, Harald Bergersen is featured here on baritone saxophone in a quartet of younger musicians keen to perform with their legendary compatriot.
Among the great standards featured are "Chelsea Bridge" by Billy Strayhorn, "A Ballad" by Gerry Mulligan, "Summer Serenade" by Benny Carter, "Blues in the Closet" by Oscar Pettiford, "Undecided" by Charlie Shavers and "Freight Trane" by Tommy Flanagan.
