Description
'Vegen' is the Norwegian folk singer Kim André Rysstad's second album to date. Supported by the acoustic trio of Anders Engen on percussion and Knut Reirrud and Trym Bjornnes on guitars, the album presents an enticing and moving collection of traditional and original songs.
At 29, singer Kim André Rysstad is one of the most exciting new names in Norwegian folk music. He possesses a voice tranquil, clear and intense, drawing on the heritage of his home region of Rysstad in Setesdal and an unbroken family line of musicians and poets that runs far back in time. A student of Agnes Buen Garnås (ECM/Jan Garbarek), Rysstad is a graduate of the Ole Bull Academy where he now teaches the traditional vocal technique, Stev. -
