Description
A third authoritative anthology of titles by - or featuring - the pioneering and immensely influencial country duo The Delmore Brothers (Alton & Rabon, both vocals & guitar). Other companies have issued the odd set by the duo but they have tended to concentrate on just one particular period. The aim here is to give a more comprehensive picture, with examples from almost the entire span of their 1933 to 1952 recording career that do not appear on the previous JSP volumes.
The 100 tracks include the brothers' own releases recorded for Bluebird, Decca and King along with many sides the duo recorded for Bluebird and King with Fiddlin' Arthur Smith, harmonica player Wayne Raney (both of whom also sang) and The Brown's Ferry Four, a loose group that at different times included Raney, Grandpa Jones, Clyde Moody and Red Turner.
