  • Description

Pianist Adam Forkelid is back - this time with his first solo piano album, born from an improvised concert at his musical home stage, Krematoriet, during the Stockholm Jazz Festival 2024. Over the past two decades, Forkelid has established himself as one of Sweden's most distinctive jazz pianists and composers. From his breakthrough with the trio Lekverk, to collaborations with the Norrbotten Big Band, Maria Schneider, Pedro Martins, and Gavin Bryars, as well as projects like 1st Movement, Soundscape Orchestra, and the Svante Soderqvist Trio/The Rocket, he has constantly pushed boundaries and been heard on stages both in Sweden and around the world. At Dreams, we hear Forkelid in his most stripped-down expression. Four of the album's six tracks are completely improvised, one is based on an old phone recording, and the last is a new interpretation from the quartet album Turning Point (2024). The result is a dreamy, fluid, and intimate journey where both the audience and the pianist share the same stream of consciousness.
