Description
The King Brothers - also known as "Britain's Youngest Rhythm Aces", "Britain's Favourite Swing Trio!" or "The Singing Group That Sizzles!" - were Britain's first boy band.
Led by Denis, aged 13, on piano, with Michael on guitar and Tony on double bass, the teenage trio made their name on BBC television and in 1956 became the youngest Variety act to play the London Palladium. Within a year they were in the record charts.
"A White Sport Coat And A Pink Carnation" became their first hit. More hit singles followed. "Mais Oui", "In The Middle Of An Island", "Doll House", "Wake Up Little Susie", "76 Trombones", and their biggest success, "Standing On The Corner" in 1960 - all recorded on the Parlophone label at Abbey Road Studios.
Officially endorsed by the King Brothers with liner notes and pictures supplied by Denis King.
The King Brothers act broke up in 1970.
