Description
Jabier Muguruza was born in northern Spain in 1960. After collaborating with groups of the Basque Country and starting his own band, Les Mecaniciens, in 1994 he began a solo career, recording five albums over the next seven years that were characterised by their singer/songwriter leanings, jazzy touches and acoustic intimacy, earning comparisons with artists such as Van Morrison, Leonard Cohen and Lluis Llach. With ENEGARREN POSTALA he has recorded his most surprising 10 song palette. The attractiveness of "CCCLXII", the cadence of "Loak Hartutako Txori Bat Izan Nahi Nuke", his Catalan language bet with "Petita Festa", the sax playing in "Tiro Bakar Batez Bi Txori", , the counter rhythm in "Nire Psikoanalista", the swinging "Plazer Bat Da"… have him treading new paths where music and language have no borders. -
