Description
Back in 1984, Alan McGee's Creation Records was fast becoming the coolest indie label on the block and The Jasmine Minks were arguably their flagship act. Hailing from Scotland, the Minks were regulars at McGee's London club night The Living Room and were one of the first signings to the label, stamping their trademark mix of Sixties-styled melodies and electric organ with songs which echoed the likes of The Jam.
Between 1984 and 1989, the band recorded four singles and four albums for Creation before taking a decade-long sabbatical. In 2001, they returned with a new studio LP Popartglory for McGees new label Poptones. In 2010, they made a second comeback with their Poppy White EP and have played and recorded sporadically ever since.
Most of the recordings are unavailable on CD " indeed, some tracks make their digital debut.
All four albums are included: One Two Three Four Five Six Seven All Good Preachers Go To Heaven (1984), The Jasmine Minks (1986), Another Age (1988) and Scratch The Surface (1989).
