  • Description

DBG Free Burma- An album designed to travel through contemporary philosophical and emotional landscapes and to raise awareness of the political situation in Burma.

DBG is an established musician having first appeared playing guitar on Cara Dillon's eponymous debut album. To critical acclaim he has since released a full album, self-titled "DBG", and a concept EP entitled "Earthling". Both CD's are of singer-songwriter style and have earned comparisons to CSN&Y, Simon and Garfunkel, The Smiths, The Beatles and Joni Mitchell. Most recently. DBG has co-written seven songs on Seth Lakeman's latest release "Hearts and Minds" and contributed guitar and vocal work on Mark Chadwicks (Levellers frontman) debut solo album "All the Pieces". DBG has been described as poet and philosopher and both these traits are proved throughout his past material and are to be found in his new full length LP, Free Burma. As always all the songs are self-penned and all instrumentation, recording and production is DBG's. Ben Nicholls ( Bass: Seth Lakeman/ Cara Dillon), a firm supporter of DBG, appears playing double bass on one track and Banjo on another. The title track of the new album is a modern day protest song drawing attention to the plight of Aung San Suu Kyi in Burma After her landslide victory in the democratic election, a military junta seized power in the country and condemned her to house arrest where she has been for some 15 years in total.
