Description
America's first bona fide rock & roll guitar hero, and one of early rock's most influential and popular instrumentalists, Duane Eddy blended blues, country, jazz and gospel, to develop a unique rock & roll style. He played strong, dramatic, single-note melodies, and devised a technique of playing lead on his guitar's bass strings to produce a low, reverberant sound which would come to be called "twang". This collector's edition includes two of Eddy's most celebrated albums: Twistin' 'N' Twangin' (1962) and Girls! Girls! Girls! (1961). Both rock & roll gems contain great examples from Duane Eddy's hit-making stretch during his most inspired years, and feature a virtual who's who of great musicians including Al Casey, Barney Kessel, Red Callender, Larry Knechtel, Earl Palmer, and Elvis Presley's original backing group, The Jordanaires, among others. These two albums have been remastered and packaged together on this very special release, which also contains 6 bonus tracks, consisting of hard-to-find sides from the same period.
