The Revival 2.0 album sees Katchafire's platinum debut album from 2003 remixed by Logan Bell, Stephen Maxwell and Phillip McFarlane, the popular all Maori roots reggae band hail from Hamilton, New Zealand.
Revival 2.0 is extended to 2LPs and 2CDs, and includes the Revival 2.0 Guest Edition album where the finest roots and reggae voices from across the globe present their own take on the tracks on Revival 2.0. These include UB40's Ali Campbell, Aswad's Brinsley Ford, Steel Pulse's David Hinds, Hawaii's Mike Love, NZ's Louis Baker, and Australian First Nations artist Emily Wurramara.
"Originally recorded around 2000, the 'Revival' album was the band's first time together in a studio, our first time tracking and mixing and they weren't as hands-on as they are now with the process. We felt that certain aspects of the finished album left us wanting, so remixing the album is something we've always talked about. Twenty-three years on we got the chance, and it was really fun to hear the original studio performances. They still stand up today and it made me feel real proud of those early recordings and the OG team", Katchafire singer and founding member Logan Bell said.
