The complete original album "An Hour with the Ramsey Lewis Trio" (Argo LPS-645), presenting the pianist's classic trio with Eldee Young on bass, and Isaac "Redd" Holt on drums.
The LP, which has been carefully remastered and presents here better sound quality than any previous CD edition, was unusual in that it presented, as its title states, a total time of nearly an hour, instead of the standard half an hour that was common to most albums from that period.
A true living jazz legend, Ramsey Lewis (born in Chicago on May 27, 1935 and aged 81 at this writing) has recorded over 80 albums and has received seven gold recordsand three Grammy Awards so far in his career.
Three different versions of songs from the album have been added as a bonus, two of them performed by the same trio, and the last one by a larger group on which Lewis is joined by such stars as Clark Terry and Paul Gonsalves.
