    An exile from Russia in 1921, Tcherepnin was later based in Paris and America where he continued composing in many different styles and genres.This disc showcases Tcherepnin's mastery of the miniature and his powerful imagination in composing them. Composed in 1926, Message, is considered one of Tcherepnin's masterpieces, having developed an arrestingly dramatic approach to rhythm. Giorgio Koukl is a pianist/ harpsichordist and composer based in Lugano Switzerland. Koukl's complete recording's of Martinu's piano music have been critically acclaimed a delight. Tcherepnin belonged to the same Parisian group of composer's making Koukl the perfect advocate for these works.
