Description
2005 STUDIO ALBUM FROM ACCLAIMED NORWEGIAN POST-PROGRESSIVE ART ROCKERS RELEASED ON CD THROUGH KSCOPE.
Formed in Oslo in 1996 by childhood friends Jon-Arne Vilbo and Thomas Andersen along with Jan-Henrik Ohme (later joined by Mikael Krømer, Lars Erik Asp and Kristian Torp), Gazpacho have honed their unique sound over a string of critically acclaimed albums and numerous tours, including several with long-time supporters Marillion.
Gazpacho's third album 'Firebird', originally released in 2005 through Marillion's Racket Records label, saw the band stay faithful to melancholy-filled artistic music with it's somewhat serious themes. The support of Marillion also led to the collaboration with guitarist Steve Rothery who plays a solo on the track 'Do You Know What You Are Saying?'.
Other guest appearances on the album came in the form of fans who had been encouraged to send in sound samples which the band would use. Among the unusual instruments featured on the album are maracas, a comb and a Leopard II battle tank.
The 11 track album, 'Firebird', is being released via Kscope on CD and will be presented in a digipack.
Gazpacho is currently enjoying the success from new studio album 'Molok'.
