This show must have felt hugely triumphant as a symbolic return to Detroit for George and Parliament Funkadelic. Years earlier, during their genesis in the back room of a New Jersey barbershop days, the Parliament doo-wop ensemble would unsuccessfully audition for Motown Records in Detroit. Parliament Funkadelic return here triumphantly showing just how deep their stage domination of interstellar psychedelic funkology was.
Coming the same year that Funkadelic would release their pinnacle album, One Nation Under A Groove, this show in motor city, Detroit, captured some of their finest live moments and the cosmic spirit of the Parliament Funkadelic. The P-Funk is here to show us a path to dance ourselves out of constrictions - their success in captivating minds and liberating dance floors is here in full force.
