Description
This CD presents two complete LPs from the 1950s made by two of Hollywood's most attractive leading ladies, Denise Darcel and Lizabeth Scott.
They were stars in the forties and fifties, however, not for them the homely girl-next-door roles. They were more likely to be cast as vamps, sultry nightclub singers, gangsters' molls or earthy pioneers. Although they sang in some of their movies it was on television and the cabaret circuit that as singers they came into their own. And as this compilation demonstrates so well, they were extremely talented in their ability to put over a song.
On 'Banned in Boston', French-born Denise Darcel sings a dozen songs of love, some sad, some with humour and some touching on the more risque.
Having played nightclub singers in several of her movies, on 'Lizabeth', Lizabeth Scott is very much at home performing a dozen classic love songs.
All 24 tracks have been digitally remastered, and none have been released on CD before.
