Juan MartÃn is a world renowned guitarist who has been voted as one of the top flamenco guitarists in the world today and Chaparro de Málaga is a prize winning guitarist who has toured widely accompanying famous flamenco singers. Melodic and explosive, the pieces were composed or arranged by Juan and evoke the visceral power of authentic flamenco in a musical dialogue between two masters of this great and esoteric art of flamenco.
The programme will transport you to the Classic Spain of Málaga, Granada, Córdoba and Jerez on a journey through the diverse cultures of Andalucia from the Moorish laments to the sounds returning from South America. As flamenco has inspired so many classical composers, Juan and Chaparro also perform arrangements of the Malagueñas of Lecuona and other classic pieces.
