Description
Growing up on Lancashire's Fylde Coast, though with an Irish father, Niamh has been immersed in both English folk music and the Irish song, music and dance tradition from an early age. A multi-instrumentalist with a lilting voice, she has represented Britain at the All-Ireland Fleadh many times and was also a YFA finalist at the age of fifteen.
It was, therefore, a natural progression to study on the Folk and Traditional Music degree course in Newcastle. This has expanded her musical horizons even further, and helped her to explore her role in the Irish diaspora through study at the Irish World Academy of Music & Dance in Limerick. -
