  • Description

Peter Kommers and Ruud van Es began working together in 1979 under the name Peru. Both shared an interest in electronic music and synthesizers. When they bumped into Rob Papen at a Dutch Klaus Schulze fan club day a year later, they decided to continue as a trio from that moment on. After their first album Macchu Picchu was regularly played on the radio, they came into contact with Willem van Kooten. Together, the three band members decided to make music under the name Nova in addition to Peru. One of the first Nova tracks was called Aurora - based on the Peru piece Sons Of Dawn - and was released as a single in the spring of 1982. It became a number 1 hit in the Netherlands and Belgium. The trio then worked with producer Chris Pilgram on their debut album Terranova, which reached number seven in the album charts in July 1982. A year later, the follow-up Quo Vadis was released. This album marked the end of Nova, after which Peter Kommers, Ruud van Es and Rob Papen continued to make music under the name Peru. This 2CD set is the first complete collection of both Nova albums, supplemented with several bonus tracks and supervised by Rob Papen and Red Bullet catalogue and band archivist Wouter Bessels.
