Out March 2016 on Ehse Records, The Great Outdoors includes an album of music and a suite of generative sound art websites that pushes at the edges of what an album can be. As a member of experimental rock quartet Horse Lords, Bernstein provides counterpoint in the form of spiraling saxophone figures and unhinged polyrhythmic percussion. As a solo artist, these inclinations coalesce into distinct compositions informed by musique concrate, free jazz, academic computer music, and minimalist compositon.
