  • Description

In a world rich in the poor, where freedoms are increasingly eroding, promises of equality are broken, and human rights are spat upon from the grinning mouths of autocratic despots, CORROSIVE AGENT have decided to spit back with their music.

Vastator Mundi is the debut album from this death metal band, who have been operating under this name since 2019 and who hail from the Residence of Law , Karlsruhe/Germany.

Following a DIY approach (recording, mixing, mastering, logo and cover art all done by the band themselves), the experienced musicians' individual genre backgrounds combine to create a death metal sound that is neither old-school nor modern, a sound that can be groovy, melodic, progressive, thrashy or blackened. Always acting in the spirit of the song and imbued with a critical and anti-fascist edge against the potential destroyers of the world.

"Hubris" was written in 2019 as a commentary on a media-dominating and self-aggrandizing president. Unfortunately, the song has lost none of its relevance. The same is true for "Rhizome", which addresses the resistance against the resurgent and already emerging fascism. The lyrics to "Carcass Country" were written in the face of the increasing nuclear saber-rattling."Plague Raiser" written in 2018 (under a different band name at the time), describes humanity itself as a pandemic.

Just a year later, reality had unfortunately caught up with the song. The title track then denounces rampant global predatory capitalism as a world-destroyer. The cover art takes "Salvator Mundi" as its central theme, a work attributed to Leonardo da Vinci and being the world's most expensive artwork, despite its disputed authenticity. What value then does truth hold? Through a decollage - a gradual tearing down and stripping away of the surface - the facade of the supposed savior reveals a grotesque patchwork of the familiar mugs of power-hungry tyrants.

With "Vastator Mundi" in tow, CORROSIVE AGENT are now ready to present their sincere music to a live audience.
