Description
August Klughardt was one of the great composers of the nineteenth century, alongside Brahms and Bruckner, who made memorable contributions to music history and certainly does not merit the fate of complete oblivion. Klughardt's music reflects the styles used by Wagner and Liszt, but Klughardt was not afraid to shy away from styles they rejected. It is the influence of Viennese classicism, especially the music of Schubert which is more obvious in his music, particularly in the Third Symphony.
