The debut album from Norwegian jazz quintet Mopti. Their synergetic interplay and ruthless command over their respective instruments, allied with their lyrical, groovy compositional style make them a formidable live band, which has translated well to this record. After hearing Mopti live, the renowned label Jazzland Recordings immediately decided to sign them.
Following the award of Best young jazz band of 2012 at the Molde Jazz Festival, and after touring extensively in Norway in the beginning of 2013, Mopti visited the UK in July 2013. The tour turned out to be a huge success, with the band playing concerts at the Edinburgh Jazz Festival, and also in Wales, Nottingham, Southampton and London. After their concert at the Match&Fuse festival in London, the band received exceptional reviews from among others The Guardian and UK's leading jazz magazine Jazzwise. The latter of the two wrote: "The discovery of the festival...Mopti's debut album Logic should be well worth investigating".
