From the ashes of the Kursaal Flyers, Pinkees and Legend Essex musical royalty, The Ugly Guys took their name from a classic song from the Kursaals. Their time together shows no signs of stopping and has resulted in nine Ugly Guys albums full of brilliant songs, presented complete with Pedal Steel Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo and the distinctive vocals of Paul Shuttleworth and Steve Oliver.
These veterans of the music scene since the 1960's are still delighting audiences on the live circuit. "Highway Shoes" includes new self-penned numbers, alongside their unique, rootsy interpretation of songs by artists as diverse as John Hiatt, Mickey Jupp, Willie Nelson & Jimmy Webb.
