Description
To mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Johann Strauss, the Salzburg Wind Philharmonic under its principal conductor Hansjorg Angerer celebrates the occasion not only with incomparable waltzes, which express the composer's extraordinary ingenuity, imagination and endless inspiration, but also with the entire variety of typical Viennese dance music, all composed by the 'Waltz King'. Of course there are also many who want to congratulate the 'birthday boy' on this special occasion. These include composer colleagues and admirers of Johann Strauss such as Johannes Brahms, Richard Wagner and Giuseppe Verdi, and equally his most important advocates of light music, Jacques Offenbach, as well as the 'Danish Strauss' Hans Christian Lumbye. The wonderful rousing and intoxicating melodies present a unique birthday celebration to commemorate the Johann Strauss anniversary year.
