Description
This new release introduces further outstanding pieces by 20th- and 21st-century Polish composers, recorded here by the Cracow Golden Quintet.
The pieces included on this CD continue the musical thought taken up by the Cracow Golden Quintet in 2020 on the album Pol-ish Wind Quintets (DUX 1685). The series aims to record the complete wind quintets of Polish composers.
The compilation on this album contains pieces originally written for this ensemble, inspired by the spirit of the 20th-century European school of neoclas-sicism; there are also influences of Polish folklore, American jazz, sacred music and sonoristic avant-garde.
The combination of instruments of varying range and tim-bre creates unlimited possibilities for presenting different moods, and the Cracow ensemble - a multiple winner of international chamber music competitions - uses the full virtuoso and lyrical potential of wind instruments in its interpretations.
