Description
The programme of this latest album from the Lomza Philharmonic is entirely new Polish music; works by three excellent artists, diverse, and yet in some sense stylistically related. The Polish Suite is a piece commissioned by the orchestra, teeming with rhythms drawn from Polish folk music, interspersed with jazz improvisations.
The Venedian Concerto is a slightly more expressively subdued composition, giving the soloist the opportunity to show off his virtuosity and tone colour sensitivity.
The Rhythm Games are pulsing with rhythm, full of sharp motifs and harmonies.
A valuable asset of the CD is the participation of five outstanding soloists, known for, among others, numerous premieres of contemporary music.
