Description
John Daversa is a versatile and respected trumpeter, composer, arranger, producer, bandleader and educator. On 'Artful Joy' he presents his "Small Band" - this powerhouse ensemble moves with ease from sections of incredible sensitivity to those of great intensity. It features guests Bob Mintzer on bass clarinet and vocalist Gretchen Parlato.
As a sideman, Daversa has performed with a variety of artists including Burt Bacharach, the Yellowjackets, Dr. Dre and Michael Bublé. He also performed alongside Warner Brothers' recording artist Rene Olstead at the Monterey, Montreal, Playboy and Montreux Jazz Festivals, and he has appeared on Late Night with David Letterman and The Oprah Winfrey Show.
