Description
Halina Krzyzanowska is a great example supporting the fact that the greatest values, such as faith and patriotism, are shaped in the family home. It is
the parents that, through their attitude and actions, show their children how to live and act. These are the basic rules of education. Today, it is completely natural and simple for us, but was it really so in the 19th century? When Poland was not on the map of Europe and when one could be exiled to Siberia for manifesting Polishness and Catholicism, revealed even in a conversation in Polish, reading Polish books, or singing religious songs? Halina Krzyzanowska, mainly due to history and politics, has been forgotten by Europe. For the French, with such a difficult name, she is certainly not a French composer, for us, Poles, she is an artist who spent her whole life in France, so we do not want to reach for her work. It is, indeed, a pity, because it is really excellent. It is worth introducing Krzyzanowska’s works to the repertoire!
