Description
In autumn 2024, the winner of the Fanny Mendelssohn Prize 2024, bassoonist Emanuel Blumin-Sint, will release his debut album on the ES-DUR label.
With "Leading Bassoon," Emanuel Blumin-Sint showcases the diverse capabilities of the bassoon, expanding its repertoire and playing techniques. His great ambition is to establish the bassoon as a leading solo instrument. On his album, he combines works by Bach, Mozart, Paganini, Allard, and Villa-Lobos with contemporary compositions by Yuri Povolotsky and Valentin Silvestrov, which are dedicated to him. In Silvestrov's composition, Emanuel himself handles the piano pedalling. Flautist Matvey Demin and cellist Alexey Stadler are Emanuel's partners in the duo works.
