Description
When Buddy Greco hit the UK charts with "The Lady is a Tramp" in 1960, many thought he was a newcomer, in reality, he'd already been a professional for 18 years by then. During those early years, by far the most prolific period was his time with Coral records. Despite his first release "I Ran All the Way Home" becoming a top 30 US hit, the rest of the recordings were not as successful, despite being of equal quality, and subsequently became quite rare. Very few of these recordings have ever been reissued, and have never been on CD before.
This set features 29 of the sides Greco recorded for Coral at a time when he was attempting to make it as a popular singer, rather than a jazz artist. It includes standards, contemporary material, duets, collaborations with other Coral artists and arrangements by future Sinatra collaborator Don Costa. It represents a previously lost part of a long and successful career.
