Description
The legendary T-Bone Walker is a fundamental source of the modern urban style of playing and singing the blues. His single-string solos influenced giants like B.B. King and such important blues-rockers as Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
This quintessential release includes one of Walker's most difficult to find albums: The Great Blues Vocals & Guitar. It was originally released by Capitol Records in late 1962, and has been long unavailable on any format. The LP consists of lesser-known selections of early recordings, taped between 1946 and 1947.
In addition to the original album, this remastered collector's item contains 16 bonus tracks, including a bunch of T-Bone Walker's most difficultto- find numbers recorded in the early 1950s. Some of these tracks feature accompaniment by the outstanding Dave Bartholomew and his band (boasting impressive sidemen like saxophonist Lee Allen and bassist Frank Fields), as well as by such great musicians as Maxwell Davis, Marl Young and Billy Hadnott.
