    Irish artist Rory Gallagher inspired countless people to pick up Stratocaster guitars. In 1972 Gallagher was crowned Melody Maker's Guitarist/Musician of the Year, this Radio Suisse broadcast highlights the legends talents and virtuosic display which led him to receive such accolades and admiration. Performed from the Pavillon Des Sports, Lausanne, Switzerland, Gallagher was finding his new set up at the time, coming after the break with the group Taste. Here he links up with former Deep Joy bassist, Gerry McAvoy, in what would be a long creative collaboration and also featuring Rod de'Ath on drums.
