STEVEN WILSON AND AVIV GEFFEN REISSUE THEIR DEBUT ALBUM 'BLACKFIELD'

Blackfield is the collaboration between Israeli songwriter and musician Aviv Geffen, and British musician and producer Steven Wilson. Their self-titled debut, originally released in 2004, is a fan favourite serving as a high benchmark for all progressive music released since and includes the popular singles "Hello", "Pain", "Blackfield" and "Cloudy Now".

An experimental record of rich, emotional melodies and lyrics, Blackfield will be released one month after Steven Wilson's upcoming fifth solo album 'To The Bone', and after the Blackfield's fifth release 'V' in February earlier this year. The second album, 'Blackfield II', also previously sold out due to popular demand, will be given a new reissue in October.

The pair makes for a formidable musical force; Geffen has worked with legendary producers Tony Visconti and Trevor Horn, has played live with U2 and Placebo, and is currently a judge on the Israeli TV show 'The Voice'. Wilson, after a long tenure as the leader of the hugely influential band Porcupine Tree, has since embarked on a highly successful solo career, achieving 3 UK top 40 albums (the most recent also making the top 3 in Germany, and The Netherlands), and 4 Grammy nominations.

This edition of Blackfield's debut album will be released on mid-price vinyl and presented in a single packaging.

At the time of Blackfield's formation, Wilson was leading Porcupine Tree, the celebrated expansive British rock band. By 2010, he shifted into a solo career, building up a dedicated global following boasting 6 Grammy nominations & 4 UK hit albums with the most recent, 'The Harmony Codex' hitting #1 in Germany.
This edition of Blackfield's debut album will be released on mid-price CD presented in a digipack packaging complete with an 8-page booklet.
